I'm discontented with homes that are rented so I have invented my own.
Darling this place is a lover's oasis where life's weary chase is unknown.
Far from the cry of the city, where flowers pretty caress the streams,
Cozy to hide in, to love side-by-side in. Don't let it abide in my dreams.

- Now thank we all our God, with heart and hands and voices. Who wondrous things has done, in Whom this world rejoices; Who from our mothers’ arms has blessed us on our way. With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.
- Oh, may this bounteous God through all our life be near us. With ever joyful hearts and blessed peace to cheer us; And keep us in His grace, and guide us when perplexed; And guard us through all ills in this world, till the next!
Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee Let the water and the blood,
From Thy wounded side which flowed, Be of sin the double cure, Save from wrath and make me pure.
Not the labor of my hands Can fulfill Thy law’s demands; Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow, All for sin could not atone; Thou must save, and Thou alone.

I know. Today is Wednesday, June 3rd!
See how great a flame aspires, Kindled by a spark of grace! Jesus' love the nations fires, Sets the kingdoms on a blaze;
To bring fire on earth He came; Kindled in some hearts it is. O that all might catch the flame, All partake the glorious bliss!
Charles Wesley 1707-1788

1 Sing the wondrous love of Jesus, sing his mercy and his grace; in the mansions bright and blessed
he'll prepare for us a place.
Refrain:
When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus
we'll sing and shout the victory.
2 While we walk the pilgrim pathway clouds will overspread the sky, but when traveling days are over,
not a shadow, not a sigh. [Refrain]

Abide with me, fast falls the eventide,
The darkness deepens, Lord, with me abide
When other helpers fail and comforts flee
Help of the helpless, oh, abide with me.

When all the world is a hopeless jumble,
And the raindrops tumble all around,
Heaven opens a magic lane.
When all the clouds darken up the skyway
there's a rainbow highway to be found,
leading from your window pane.
To a place behind the sun, just a step beyond the rain;

Let me more of their beauty see, wonderful words of life
Words of life and beauty teach me faith and duty.

1 O for a thousand tongues to sing
my great Redeemer's praise,
the glories of my God and King,
the triumphs of his grace!
2 My gracious Master and my God,
assist me to proclaim,
to spread through all the earth abroad
the honors of your name

It's Friday! Time for a little fun! I need a banjo player right now!
Five foot two, eyes of blue oh, what those five foot could do. Has anybody seen my girl?
Turned up nose, turned down hose never had no other beaus. Has anybody seen my girl?
Now if you run into a five foot two, covered with fur. Diamond rings and all those things Betcha' life it isn't her
But could she love, could she woo? Could she, could she, could she coo?Has anybody seen my girl?

Today's devotion came as a complete, and pleasant, surprise to me. This past Tuesday Our Youth Director, Julie, asked if I had seen Central's soon-to-be 7th grader Nathan Clement's daily music devotions. I said I didn't know about it, so, she sent me his YouTube link. God bless him - he even changes the "registrations", like I do on the organ, between the verses.
God bless you, Minister of Music Nathan Clements. You are something else!

1 The church's one foundation is Jesus Christ, her Lord; she is his new creation by water and the Word:
from heaven he came and sought her to be his holy bride; with his own blood he bought her, and for her life he died.
2 Elect from every nation, yet one o'er all the earth, her charter of salvation one Lord, one faith, one birth;
one holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food, and to one hope she presses, with every grace endued.

My favorite hymn - listening, playing, or singing. Today's devotion is very special and I would like to thank Sandi, Jessica, Liv, Debbie, Lisa, Linda, Vicki, and Diana for learning this hymn, and then recording it in their own homes. Special thanks to Matt Tiller for the wonderful editing. Beautiful Savior - sung by angels.

It seems that joy is in short supply these days. I believe that joy is best experienced when it is shared personally. Not the same when it is through an iPhone or computer screen. But, joy can be found simply by reaching out where you don’t usually reach.

There is nothing more musically, and spiritually, uplifting than a choir, congregation, and full throated organ raising up this opening hymn on a Sunday morning. Also, an inspiring way to celebrate a new Monday. "Early in the morning our songs will rise to Thee". God bless you and keep you in the palm of His hand!

The three minute music devotion for today is an opportunity to take a moment, slow the breathing, and allow for some inner peace to settle in. It is about coming nearer to the heart of God. "There is a place of quiet rest". I hope you enjoy the gentle side of Central's Casavant pipe organ.

I would like to continue my daily musical devotions until that time when we can begin to see each other in person. I am grateful that many of our music ministry members meet on a weekly basis through teleconferencing to check in and assure each other that they, even though apart, are still tied by the bond that unites us. It's a Blessed Assurance given to us all. This is our story, and our song. The hymn starts softly, but builds to a joyful ending.
